Criminal Law is a noble call
Most people enter the law to help people. They want to work to help families with difficult tasks involved in managing plantations. At other times they want to work to ensure the company adheres to federal environmental regulations. Not many people think of going to criminal law as great service for humanity especially when they choose to work for defense. It doesn’t need to be a problem. Yes there are serious bastards that are out there and commit a crime. Yes there is even a very good bastard well who will be willing to pay ears to release scot free. On the other hand there are far more people who face unfair accusations and a busty, confusing and expensive legal system. They can use someone who understands criminal law and can navigate them through the process. Litigation can take months and is very dependent on the right procedure. Much more than one person must bear.
There are many mistakes in the criminal law system that we have. That is its natural hostility. That is why people want to have someone in their corner with experience and expertise to fight. This system is set in a way that if someone’s right is being violated, they may not know. It can be your responsibility to help them if you choose to practice criminal law.
It’s easy to hand down by the legal climate in this country. We have become very excited that people demand each other for the smallest things. The corporation employs fresh children from school and uses it to instill their way. This is not the type of way you imagine to do your friends and neighbors service when you decide to get your legal degree. Consider what the great impact you can do on the lives of people by protecting them from going to prison for crimes they don’t do. Even if you think of representing people who recognize that they are guilty there are so many you can do to help reduce their punishment. Consider a young man captured one night after he made a bad decision.
He faced a prison time and a decent fine he hoped. Unfortunately he also has a scholarship for college and will lose it if he is punished for a crime. He never did something truly wrong and this scholarship was his chance to get out of his poverty cycle and his family lived. He still paid a fine and did service hours of society but now he did not have to miss his future and he still learned his lessons and faced the consequences. It is a real benefit and real value in practicing criminal law.
